1. ONGOING POLICY UPDATES
a. Rezoning status
SF Planning has scheduled an informational presentation on the proposed zoning update to the Planning Commission on 4/10/25. Planning has shared the update in the link below. DZLU is reviewing it and will discuss this at its April meeting.

b. Objective preservation design standards

RHN’s support letter was issued to the Planning Commission who unanimously approved the standards on 3/20. See last month’s report for details.
c. Window standards in non-historic buildings

The Planning Commission has recommended relaxing standards in non-historic residential buildings to allow alternative, less costly materials for window frames such as vinyl-clad frames.
d. Formula retail zoning proposal for Van Ness
The Planning Commission on 4/3 unanimously approved removing the Conditional Use requirement and it will advance to the Board of Supervisors. As discussed in last month’s report, RHN joined with the Van Ness Corridor Neighborhoods Council in supporting this.
e. SB 79 proposal for housing at transit hubs

This new proposal sponsored by Sen. Wiener would loosen height restrictions for housing developments around major transit hubs. As it advances, DZLU will review it for any Russian Hill impacts.
