Police Patrol on Lombard St

“In light of recent criminal activity in Russian Hill, beginning on May 8th, I now deploy a patrol officer for a 10 hour period, throughout the day, on Russian Hill. Officers rotate through this assignment on an hourly basis for a 6 block radius that centers around Lombard Street. This high visibility patrol assignment will not only deter crime but will allow for a greater presence in and around Russian Hill. For those officers who are partnered together, they split up for that hour, patrolling in two separate cars to provide more coverage. We will continue our work to address auto burglaries and robberies in the area, sending a message that the police are present. ”  from Captain David Lazar.
