Safety has become a vital aspect of our daily lives; home safety, self safety, public safety are all things we can practice daily. Are your doors and windows secured with proper locks? Is your home security updated? Do you travel alone at night ? Many of us take our safety for granted and we now have to be responsible for our own best practices. Having your buildings or homes assessed by SF SAFE is cost free and they can come to you and inform you on the best methods to keep your home and self out of harm’s way. Prevention has become a buzzword for all city residents. We must walk with others at night and try to avoid being along on the many stairway gardens throughout the city. This is a means of transportation for many of us. I cannot urge you enough to be aware of your surroundings and never display your cell devices in public while walking and talking. Daytime is as risky as nightfall. Please read our police reports in this eblast that note crime trends and what crimes are happening in your neighborhood. Our web page carries previous reports if you want to review them.
SFPD and Captain Lazar will be holding Central Station’s Community Meeting on Russian Hill later this month. Please check details and attend. Captain Lazar is always ready to take questions and listen to your concerns. Central Station’s undercover team were involved in a great arrest in late June that has gone viral with a video that has more than a million hits. He provided more undercover officers on Russian Hill due to our request at our May Safety Forum. We work in partnership with both Captain Lazar and Captain Jamarena at Northern Station to keep you informed of all trends and emergencies. We thank both Captains for the extraordinary collaboration and attention they give our community every day. We are grateful for the jobs you and your teams do every day to help keep us safe. Your communication with us is incredible. Thank you.

Not sure I can make it to the police meeting on the 21st. But huge increase in broken windows on cars in the neighborhood that I see each morning as I walk my dog at 5:30 to 6 am. I sure hope they are doing something to stop this crime spree.
