Friends of the Urban Forest (FUF) organized a very successful morning of tree planting on Russian HIll. FUF and lots of our volunteers planted a total of 37 trees in the neighborhood. Trees were planted at no cost to property owners who have pledged to water the trees until they become well established. These trees will all help make our hill look greener and even more attractive. Benefits of street trees have been shown to include increasing property values, calming traffic, and reducing air and water pollution.
