If you want a full service Whole Foods 365 Grocery Store at 1600 Jackson Street
YOUR VOICE IS URGENTLY NEEDED at the UPCOMING HEARING
November 8, 2018 – Room 400, City Hall – Time TBA
In response to the Planning Commissioners, the owner of 1600 Jackson Street and Whole Foods have submitted a modified proposal that includes 8 units of housing on the second floor of the existing 1600 Jackson Street building, with the grocery store occupying the first floor as originally planned. The units include studios, one bedroom and two bedroom units. Variances from the rear yard and open space requirements will be needed to proceed with the new plan, which has the support of the planning staff.
RHN believes this is a win-win solution for our neighborhood and for the City as a whole and has filed an additional letter of support (to see the RHN letter, click RHN Support Letter.)
The November 8 hearing will hopefully be the last, but most important, in this very long decision-making process. Everyone who attends will be able to speak – your voice is important and will make a difference.
If you are able to attend, let us know by sending an email to zoning@rhnsf.org – as soon as we know when this item will come up on the Commission Agenda, we will email you that information. At this point, it seems likely that it will be toward the end of the meeting, thus around 4 – 5 PM or later, so near the end of your work day. We hope this allows more of you to attend.
Meanwhile, feel free to send additional letters of support for the modified proposal to the following:
