Dear Members, Merchants and Friends,
Thanks to all who attended our Annual Meeting on May 7 at the beautiful San Francisco Art Institute. RHN’s Social Committee outdid itself with pre-meeting refreshments — it was difficult to break up the conversations when it was time to begin the meeting. As promised, the Business Meeting included votes on revised Bylaws, election of officers and directors, and a treasurer’s report. Our keynote speaker City Administrator, Naomi Kelly, shared information on the city’s capital planning program and answered questions on a range of topics. We also distributed copies of our Annual Report which can be viewed here: Annual Report Here.
Membership events like the Annual Meeting, our upcoming summer picnic, and other social opportunities are a wonderful way to meet our neighbors and feel part of the Russian Hill community. Another great way is to serve on a committee. Not only do you experience a sense of accomplishment, but committee service often results in long-term friendships from working together on shared projects.
Currently, RHN is looking for a Parks Committee Chair and additional members for that committee. Openings are also available on our Safety, Families and Membership Committees. Contact me or the committee chair for additional information.
In July, the RHN Board will have its Annual Board Retreat at which we will set specific goals on which to focus the organization’s efforts in the coming year. Please send me an email if you have a suggestion of goals and projects to consider prioritizing.
And welcome to our 64 new members who joined RHN this past year, including a record number of Local Business Members. Be sure to take a look at the list of our Local Business Members and to SHOP LOCAL!
