Having a problem with randomly parked scooters? Here’s what you can do about them:
Scooters are a great way to get around San Francisco. Scooter companies are required to educate their riders on how and where to park scooters. Unfortunately, not all riders comply and scooters are not always properly parked. Scooters must be left upright, parallel to a bike rack and within the footprint of a bike rack. They cannot block pedestrian travel, access to other street furniture or amenities, or hang over the curb to the street. If you see a scooter improperly parked, report it on the 311 app (download it on google play or iphone app store). You can also call 311. Investigators respond fairly quickly and write citations if appropriate to the scooter company.
You can also call scooter companies directly. They are required to track complaints and enter them into a database and often can respond more quickly than the city. They can be reached at:
JUMP (call 844-505-9155 or use this webform)
Lime (call 415-818-1305 or email support-sf@li.me)
Scoot (call 415-371-9504 or email hi@scoot.com)
