After three months of sheltering in place and with the weather warming, there’s little need for extra motivation to get outside. Over the weekend, a trio of local volunteer tree enthusiasts added a bit more enjoyment to anyone’s run or walk through the neighbourhood.
Armed with little more than coloured chalk Michael Sullivan, Jason Dewees, and Richard Turner have made a readily available self-guided tour of the various tree species scattered on the hill. Each description is paired with a number matching a physical address on their website, sftrees.com in Russian Hill and throughout other districts of the city.
Even if the chalk descriptions disappear, the information is still available online for anyone interested in discovering the more than 40+ species they have identified. If you enjoy what you find, please share an email of thanks and appreciation to michaelsullivan415@gmail.com, rgtjr246@gmail.com, and jason@floragrubb.com.
Enjoy the walking tree tour.
