THANKS TO ALL WHO TOOK THE SURVEY WE HAVE PLANS!
The RHN Neighborhood Enhancement Committee conducted a “Doggie Do Survey” to gain understanding of how those with dogs handle their dog’s daily dog walking activities in terms of location (fire hydrants, poles, curbs, green spaces etc) and disposal, (trash cans, home, planters, etc). Because there is a lot of dog poop left in the streets and planters, we hoped to turn up some actionable ideas for remedying this situation.
We heard again and again from dog owners that their biggest challenge can be summed in four words… ”We need more trash cans!”
So our little team walked our entire neighborhood to determine the number and location of all our existing trash cans. We have 44 trash cans, and in order to have a trash can within 3 blocks of each resident, we would need 15 more. So we have submitted a request to DPW to add 15 more cans. Will we succeed? We’ll soon find out and we’ll keep you posted.
