Friends, Neighbors, and Merchants,
I hope everyone is enjoying all that our Russian Hill parks and merchants have to offer with this beautiful Northern California sunshine!
I first want to share an exciting piece of news that reflects the type of large-scale accomplishments that are possible with this organization. The Polk Street plan that the SFMTA staff adopted on March 3, 2015 was a compromise that Russian Hill Neighbors developed and supported. We are excited to see the safety improvements that will be made to our neighborhood and extra kudos to Stephen Taber for spearheading this effort on behalf of RHN.
I would like to thank our newly appointed District 3 Supervisor, Julie Christensen, for joining the March RHN board meeting for dinner and thoughtful conversation on the issues facing our neighborhood. On behalf of the board and our membership, we look forward to working with you.
We will also continue with our monthly Street Sweep program, and work to support our neighborhood parks and trees. Greg Polchow continues to take this program to the next level and we could not be more thankful. I encourage every single one of you to join Greg in his efforts.
We have received many membership renewals from you over the past several months – THANK YOU very much for your continued support and participation. If you have not yet returned your membership forms or renewed online, please make sure to do so! We can’t accomplish our goals without you.
Congratulations are in order to our two newest board members, Joyce Kucharvy and Adam Barrett!
We are still looking to fill vacant roles on our Board of Directors. Are you interested in getting more involved in your neighborhood? Do you have fresh, new ideas to improve our community? We are looking for you! Do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in joining this dynamic team!
With San Francisco love,
Erica Kwiatkowski
