President’s April Letter

Dear Friends, Members and Merchants,

Having gone through many unforeseen life events with our Executive Committee members, the Committee met in early March with a plan for a healthy shake up moving through the next year. Due to work commitments our President Erica Kwiatkowski had to step down and resume her role as Vice President.  It was decided that I shall return as the President for the next year. We have brought on Emily Harrold as Secretary and Ian Maddison remains our valued Treasurer. Our new members at large to the Executive Committee are two of our strongest Committee Chairs who are revered by members of the community, Richard Cardello, DZLU Chair and Greg Polchow, Chair of Neighborhood Improvement.  We plan to make any transition seamless and anticipate a robust upcoming year with several new Committee Chairs and Directors.

We are delighted to have Joyce Kucharvy leading our Social Committee and has fabulous ideas for restaurant openings, picnics at the Presidio and theatre outings, even some opportunities for travel. Joyce would love to develop a great committee and welcomes volunteers,  Emily Harrold has taken over as a Chair of our a Families with Children Committee and has terrific ideas in a desperately needed area. We love to see children using our parks and playgrounds and having planned family adventures on a Russian Hill will be most welcome. Our Bostonian Adam Barrett has taken the lead as Chair of Membership! With Adam and Joyce working together on Social events we have strong expectations of enlarging our membership.

SFPD Central Station’s Community Advisory Board (CPAB) in partnership with SF SAFE has developed the “PARK SMART” education program which is pictured on this month’s eBlast header. With a reported 2,300 auto break-ins in our Central a District in 2014, hotels, rental car agencies and local merchants will start educating tourists as well as residents to not leave ANY valuables in their vehicles. If you park it, PARK SMART, please.

If you want to get more involved in our neighborhood, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would love to have you join one of our many dynamic committees. I hope to see many of you at our Annual Meeting on April 23rd. Details are in the eBlast.

Warm regards,

Tina Moylan
