Dear Friends, Neighbors and Merchants,

Many thanks to those of you who attended our Annual Meeting 2015. Our speakers were informative and answered many questions on all issues relating to Russian Hill. A huge thank you to our Supervisors Mark Farrell and Julie Christensen, SFPD Captains David Lazar and Greg McEachern and Keynote Speaker Phil Ginsburg, Director of Rec and Parks. You are all great partners, supporters and friends of Russian Hill Neighbors and help keep our neighborhood safe and thriving. We salute each of you for taking time and keeping us updated. Big thank you to Cole Hardware and Za Pizza for donating wine and pizzas.

Our new committee chairs Emily Harrold (Families with Children), Joyce Kucharvy (Social), and Adam Barrett (Membership) have sprinted into action immediately. Joyce’s first event sold out and many more exciting activities are planned. Both Emily and Adam have started planning events for June and will be posted on the calendar of our website. Please check. We will also send out a brief eBlast invitation to these activities. I am both proud and stunned at the swift “let’s do it” attitude and action our new board members possess! Thank you, Emily, Joyce and Adam.

I would be remiss without commending standing committees and working groups that meet monthly and are led by incredible Chairs: DZLU with Richard Cardello continues to turn out great work and respectful positions; Neighborhood Improvement has their next neighborhood sweep on Saturday (details on calendar) and Greg Polchow and La Boulange keep our members coming back; Treasurer Ian Maddison keeps our finances in check; Mike Moylan, Communications Chair, constantly updates our web page, calendar and produces our bimonthly eBlast which keeps us all current on activities and news; committee updates from Steve Taber and Merchant Liaison contacts by Par Hanji are invaluable. Lynn Jacobs continues to keep our RHN Book Club rolling along with more members all the time and incredible book choices. Thank you all for making our neighborhood vibrant and current.

Lastly, I would like to encourage you to attend SFPD Captain Lazar’s Community meeting on May 21 on Russian Hill at the Norwegian Seaman’s Church on Hyde and Francisco at 6:00 pm. Details in Calendar.

Go Warriors!

Warm regards,
Tina Moylan
