Maria Manetti Shrem Community Garden Lottery

You are here: Home / Latest News / Maria Manetti Shrem Community Garden Lottery

November 2, 2020 by communications Leave a Comment

The new Maria Manetti Shrem Community Garden, is under construction, with an anticipated opening in early 2021. This community garden will be managed by the Recreation & Park Department (RPD), and we are thrilled that, in anticipation of the Francisco Park’s completion, RPD is launching a lottery for plots in the Garden. You can sign up to join the lottery now!

The lottery is open now and will be open through December 31, 2020. Due to the anticipation of the high volume of plot requests and our intention of providing equitable access, the initial plot assignments at this garden will be made by lottery.

After the lottery deadline:
• RPD Community Gardens Program staff will randomize the list in order to identify the initial plot assignments and waitlist order.
• RPD will notify the lottery participants about the results by the second week in January 2021.
• RPD will assign plots to those selected and provide information to everyone else about their position on the waitlist.
• All waitlist requests received after 11:59pm on 12/31/20 will be added to the end of the list in first-come-first-served order.
• RPD Community Gardens staff will hold a mandatory orientation meeting for garden members around the first week in February 2021 to prepare for the new park and garden opening.
Sign up now to join the Maria Manetti Shrem Community Garden lottery here!

Thank you for your continued support and interest in Francisco Park!

Warmest wishes,
Francisco Park Conservancy

P.S. Stair Dedications are still available with your $1.5K+ donations.
