National Stewardship Action Council, https://www.nsaction.us/ invited our Neighborhood Enhancement team to co-present “SMOKING WASTE POLLUTION: It’s Time to End the Scourge” with them at the 3rd Annual Illegal Dumping Conference.
Typically, large items such as mattresses and abandoned vessels, paint and the like are thought of as illegal dumping, yet the little cigarette filter is actually the single most abundant source of plastic waste in California and across the globe. It was our goal to build awareness of this among the stakeholders involved in this issue so that solutions for this piece of the problem can be found.
