As taxpayers paying for this service, we are part of just 10% of the entire city that does not get this service as shown clearly in the map below. Not only are our streets dirty, but during the winter rains our neighborhood had the distinction of sending untold amounts of toxic cigarette butts, plastic, and fecal matter into the Bay.
We wish to see our streets swept just once or twice a month, (midday), which is a reasonable balance between any real or perceived inconvenience to some of our neighbors and the whole neighborhood living with the filth that accumulates daily.
Send an email to our Supervisor Aaron Peskin and SF Department of Public Works Ian Schneider and tell them you want our streets cleaned… which is in fact the responsibility of the City! Email addresses are: aaron.peskin@sfgov.org and ian.schneider@sfdpw.org
