Christmas Party – Russian Hill Neighbors annual holiday party will take place on December 9.
Russian Hill Neighbors held a neighborhood picnic on June 22. The day started out with members of the neighborhood sweep meeting at 9:30 to spruce up the neighborhood. Then the sweep team and other RHN members met at Teepee Park on Hyde at noon for hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes, lemonade and socializing. A big thanks to Sarah Taber for the great job in pulling together this great event and Julia Strzesieski from Cole’s Hardware for helping (plus bringing tables and other supplies from Cole’s Hardware). Another big thanks to Ian Maddison our “chef” who cooked up the food in his back yard (next door to the park). And more thanks to Phoebe Douglass, Tina Moylan, Emily Harrold, Greg Polchow and Joyce Kucharvy for their help. Forty-five folks attended, a good time was had by all. We plan to make this an annual event!
At our April Wine and Dine (WAD) event, a group of Russian Hill Neighbors enjoyed great food, wine and conversation…and oh yes, a beautiful view.
Thanks to our host Richard Cardello who wins the prize for setting a very beautiful table and to the participants who all contributed to make this a fun evening. Our next WAD will be sometime in the fall and will be limited to 10 participants. If you would like advance notification once we set a date, email email@example.com and ask to be on the WAD email list for notifications of just WAD or on the social list to receive notifications of all social events.
Our next Wine and Dine event will be April 8 at 6:30. Come join your neighbors in a small intimate dinner setting at 999 Green Street where you have a chance to better get to know your neighbors. Each person will be assigned a dish to make (recipe provided) or wine to bring to make our dinner spectacular. Costs for the food and wine will be divided amongst the attendees.
The menu is:
- Appetizer: Dates stuffed with Goat Cheese and Pistachios
- Main Course: chicken served with tomato, eggplant and potato gratin
- Salad: three Romaine Lettuce Leaves with Gorgonzola Cheese slice and pecans, lemon vinaigrette
- Dessert: Biscuit Tortoni (almond semifreddo) with cherry compote
Space is very limited. To reserve your spot or for any questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Our night at the symphony as well as our Wine and Dine event are both sold out. If you want to be on the wait list for either event, email email@example.com.
We are planning a docent tour at SFMOMA followed by a happy hour by the museum on a date TBD in October. We will provide details on the web site and in our email blasts as dates and details are finalized.
